Secure Heir Access
Your encryption key is split into shares — heirs need a configurable threshold (e.g., 3 of 5) to unlock the vault. When heirs submit their shares, a grace period starts. You're notified and can deny access.
Emergency Master Key
A separate emergency key is split between you and our server — both parts are required. Generate a one-time recovery key and store it offline securely.
Password-Based Unlock
We never receive your vault password. It's used locally to decrypt the vault master key. Your password never leaves your device.
Grace Period Protection
You're notified of access attempts and can deny unintended access before the vault opens. Full control over who sees your documents and when.

How zero-knowledge encryption, heir access, and vault storage work.
Zero-knowledge means our servers never see your unencrypted data. Your documents are encrypted in your browser using your password before they're uploaded. We store only encrypted blobs. Even if our servers were breached, your documents would be unreadable.
Your vault password is never stored on our servers, so we cannot reset it for you. However, if you've set up the emergency master key feature, you can use your offline backup key to regain access. We strongly recommend keeping your emergency key in a safe physical location.
